Thanks to ALL who joined us at Peppers last time. We'll be back there for the Unkle's Who You Callin' A Ho-Ho-Holiday Party on Sat. Dec. 21st.

The Big Unkle introduces the newest and most civilized member of the Evolution.
You've got to hear her to believe us!
Excerpt from http://www.alicemariequirk.com/
"She was featured as a celtic violinist on the front-page of Irish Philadelphia and opened for the popular Irish rock group, Blackthorn. Alice Marie has played with the Kennett Symphony, the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, and the 2011 Grammy-Nominated Temple University Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in Master-Classes with the likes of David Darling (2010 Grammy winner), Phyllis Chapell (Latin Jazz Vocalist), and Rachel Ku (of the Philadelphia Orchestra)."
But.....no one ever asked her to play jazz-funk violin against Stanley Clarke and Herbie Hancock covers. And she was certainly never asked to solo over songs like Thrill Is Gone or Hey Joe and asked to sing everything from Peggy Lee and Nina Simone to Amy Winehouse and Chaka Khan. She was never once approached about such crazy things. .....Never once.....'TIL NOW!!!!

Looking like a band of gypsies.....Three years and still runnING! It was the third time for The Big Unkle to take the stage at the Phildelphia ING Rock n' Roll Marathon this past Sunday, September 15th
For over 15,000 runners and walkers and even more spectators, volunteers and organizers, TBU kept them all "Dancin' In The Streets" as they brought the participants home over the last two miles with a combination of their original groovers and grinders and dance and Motown classics.

The Unkle Line-Up for the ING: From left: Tommy "The Kidd" Mosca, guitar & vocals. John "JB" Bigham, keys and vocals. Kristin Bigness, vocals. Eddie "Rock" Rothmaller, percussion. Alice-Marie Quirk, violin & vocals. Tom "Quirky" Theurer, drums and John Henderson aka TBU on bass (and for some reason on that particular day---vocals as well.)
"It's such an honor to do these kinds of shows." says Henderson. "We do a lot of community events and marathons. At these kinds of events, we go a little bit outside of our normal toy box and try to play more dance and pop songs. That's what these mugs want to hear. That is important to us. We "get" it. We play what they recognize and what makes them move. And when you think about the tragedy at the Boston Marathon--it makes you understand how important it is to keep the runners and their families happy, motivated and unafraid. Folks come here to have a good time. They are here on behalf of many good causes...it is a very special day. We are glad to be a part of that machine. It is truly "not just another gig"!"
